That's a Stretch
I saw this Green Heron alone on the banks of the Connecticut River where a got many terrific shots. Eventually he hopped up on a tree branch about 6 feet off the ground where he spent sometime looking about, preening and stretching before hopping back down to the shore to continue its slow and patient hunt for prey in the shoals. Although Green Herons tend to be shy. he didn't seem to mind my nearby presence. I was able to get within about 10 feet of him.
